There is something about the shoreline just as the day slips away that always makes me pause. On this evening, the bay was alive with movement—not in crashing waves or crowds, but in the quiet dance of wind through the tall reeds. As the sun melted into the horizon, the sky transformed into layers of deep blues, fiery oranges, and soft violet tones, casting the last light of day across the water.
Standing there with my camera, I was struck by how these weathered grasses seemed to tell the story of the shore itself—bending with the wind, shaped by the seasons, yet always standing tall. It was one of those fleeting moments photographers chase: when nature briefly aligns in color, texture, and feeling before darkness settles in.
Scenes like this remind me why I’m endlessly drawn to the New Jersey coast.
