Yasgur's Farm Woodstock Print – 50th Anniversary Festival Site Wall Art

Yasgur's Farm – 50th Anniversary Woodstock Photography Print | Original 1969 Festival Site | Bethel NY Wall Art

In August 2019, I found myself standing on sacred ground in American music history. Fifty years after nearly half a million people gathered for three days of peace, music, and cultural change, I was camping on the original Woodstock festival site at Yasgur's Farm in Bethel, New York.
This photograph captures the iconic Yasgur barn, a quiet landmark that has become a symbol of one of the most influential events of the twentieth century. Looking at it today, it's hard to imagine the sea of humanity that once covered these rolling hills. Yet during the 50th anniversary celebration, the spirit of Woodstock returned.
The small town of Bethel transformed into a living time capsule. Roads filled with visitors from across the country, many wearing tie-dye shirts, flower crowns, and vintage concert memorabilia. Some had attended the original festival in 1969 and returned to relive their memories. Others, like me, came to experience the history and pay tribute to a moment that changed music forever.
As the sun set each evening, campsites became gathering places where strangers shared stories, guitars appeared around campfires, and conversations flowed as freely as they must have fifty years earlier. The atmosphere was remarkably welcoming. Despite the crowds, there was a sense of community that felt genuine and timeless. People spoke not only about the music but about the ideals Woodstock came to represent—peace, acceptance, creativity, and human connection.
Standing before the weathered Yasgur barn, camera in hand, I felt connected to both the past and the present. The barn remains much as it was decades ago, quietly watching over the fields where history was made. This image is more than a photograph of a building; it is a portrait of a place where generations continue to gather in celebration of music, freedom, and the enduring belief that people can come together in harmony.
